The Novel Devdas of Shrat Chandra
is interesting but very tragic. It seem to be a story, There is nothing any
reality. But it was a fact. Once there is a village named Hatipota. Devdas once
in this village. Devdas come to meet with his lover Parboti lastly who was the
housewife in this village by cart from Pandua station.

But Alas! He could not
meet with her. Devdas died under a Banyan tree in this village Hatipota is
about 30 kilometres away from Kalna city. But this Kalna city is in Burdwan
district in West Bengali of India. There are Devdas sporting club, Devdas
renoun Library and Devdas glory preservation committee. The People of Hatipota
are call it is not story or history they say it is fact. That Banyan tree is no
more today where Devdas died under the Banyan tree.

A new Banyan tree has been
planted, which is 100 hundreds years ago. Parboti got married with a land lord
of Hatipota. That very house of land Lord Bhubon Chowdhury was near the river
in the Jungle before 50 years ago. It is also no more today Hoogly district is
in the south of burdwan district. Parboti and Devdas was born this Tal Sonapur Village in the district of Hoogly.
The house of Debdas and Parboti are no more today in that Tal Sonapur Village. Every thing has gone to
destroyed.

Debdas was the son of wealthy families Narayan Mukhopadhyay at Tal
Sonapur Village. Parboti was the daughter of Nilkantha Chakraborty. Once Sarat
Chandra Chattopadhyay came to know the love history of Devdas and parboti in Tal
Sonapur Village and Hatipota village. The people of that time saw him where
Devdas died under the Banyan tree.

After this Shrat Chandra. Wrote this novel “
Devdas”. “Novel Devdas” which was published in 1917. There was great attraction
after publishing the Novel among the readers. This book is the most attractive
for the Present readers too. Remember if you want to see the Hatipota village
you should be go to Burdwan district in west Bengal.
